UPDATE: Sigma Chi Expansion To London, England!

We want to keep you informed about the London expansion. Please share this information at Chapter Meetings, in newsletters, and in WhatsApp groups.
Accomplishments
Since last week, we have:
Sent emails to alumni and undergraduate chapters across North America and the U.K. seeking legacies, exchange students, and other qualified students in the London area who might be interested in leading the creation of a fraternity.
Posted the announcement on Sigma Chi's LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
Launched the SigmaChi.UK website for the Alumni Chapter that will provide information to undergraduates researching the initiative.
Launched an Instagram Account that will be used for local student engagement.
Identified two types of students who would be excited to join a fraternity in London:
Foreign Students studying in London who are seeking a sense of campus community.
British students with an interest in "Americana" or who expect their career could go international. (e.g., Ice Hockey, American Football, Baseball, Lacrosse).
Set up meetings with prominent Sigs to get advice about effective fundraising. We estimate we will need to raise US$30,000 to cover initial fees to HQ, insurance fees, regalia, and marketing.
Had a successful status update meeting with the New Chapter Development Committee (NCDC), attended by Ryan Temby, the Grand Pro Consul.
16 Sigma Chis reached out to us as a result of the announcement last week, including:
4 Sigs who are current students in the UK (Undergrad + Postgrad)
2 Sigs planning Summer 2024 studies in London
4 Sigs planning Fall 2024 studies in London
6 New alumni chapter members
Next Steps
Over the next few weeks, we plan to:
Create Instagram pictures, captions, and text for the ad campaign and launch the ad campaign on Instagram.
Improve the website and landing pages.
Launch the fundraising campaign with a target of US$30,000
Book recruitment event meeting spaces and lock down the recruitment event dates.
Begin to draft local bylaws and standard operating procedures for the new group tailored to London.

Contribute Financially: We don’t want one-off start-up costs to deter or demoralize the founding members. Help us to help them.
Spread the word: Share these updates with your Sigma Chi brothers, the Greek System, and your network of family and friends. You never know who might refer us our first Consul.
